Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards
Ramadan Mubarak! (Albeit a little late). The Islamic holy month of Ramadan has begun with muslims from around the world observing a period of fasting to test their strength and devotion. To read a little more about some muslim children’s experience of Ramadan and its importance to them, please click here. Supervised prayer spaces have been made available to all students around the school and thank you to our colleagues for volunteering to support this.
We have had a number of workshops, trips and visits this week including a French play from the Onatti theatre company, a food and nutrition trip to the University of West London, a rewards trip to Oxygen Free jumping centre, Debate mate and an NFL fixture. Not to mention recognition of world book day yesterday. Thank you to staff who have given up their time to plan, supervise and attend these engaging activities.
International Women’s Day is tomorrow with the theme “Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” Their website shares the disturbing statistic that “At our current pace, a girl born today will be nearly 40 years old before women hold as many seats in parliament as men.” We are so proud of our girls and women at Villiers and will continue to prioritise opportunities for them to lead and innovate.
A- Level History Shakespeare Theatre Trip

On Thursday, 27th February, 20 A-Level students had the incredible opportunity to attend a matinée performance of Richard II at the Bridge Theatre. Starring the acclaimed actor, Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Wicked), the production brought Shakespeare’s historical drama to life with a truly outstanding performance. Sitting in the front row, we were placed right in the heart of the action, making the experience even more immersive. Set around 1398, Richard II follows the downfall of the last Plantagenet king as he is deposed by Henry Bolingbroke, who becomes Henry IV—the first Lancaster king. Students were particularly engaged by Richard’s erratic behaviour, as his indecision and impulsiveness ultimately lead to a rebellion against him and subsequent imprisonment and death.
This gripping exploration of power, legitimacy, and rebellion ties directly to our A-Level History unit on Medieval England, providing valuable insight into the key events and concepts we study. The immersive nature of the performance left a lasting impression, and students thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

French Play Y7 – Y10
Students of French in Y7 – Y10 had a very cultured afternoon on Monday watching a performance of ‘Prendre sa revanche’, which was performed entirely in French. The Onatti Theatre company came to Villiers Theatre for the event. As well as our students practising their French listening skills it was a hugely entertaining event. Special mention goes to Aishlyn Y9, Rafi Y8, Rayan Y8 and Sonam Y8 who fearlessly took to the stage to join the actors & were sensationnel!
Y9 Attendance Rewards Trip
On Tuesday 4th March, 27 pupils with high attendance had an extraordinary fun time at Oxygen in Acton. For one hour, they jumped, leaped, played games with peers and had a great time celebrating strong attendance.
