Message from the Headteacher, Mr C Richards:
It has been a very cold week this week but it hasn’t stopped us ploughing on with our learning and enrichment. We also had some lovely feedback from a member of the public about one of our Heads of Year, Mr V Virdi, this week: “I would just like to bring to your attention (and maybe for the attention of your Headteacher) the kindness of one of your staff members. I was travelling with my 6 year old daughter from Leamington Spa to London on Sunday 17th November. Due to a police incident there were train cancellations, so our 14.16pm service was over-crowded and we had to stand during a long journey to London. One passenger kindly and generously offered us his seat without hesitation and was your staff member (briefly mentioned to us he is a teacher in your school). He was sitting together with another member of staff, who was also kind and understanding. Please pass our thanks again. This experience gives hope for a kinder world and is an excellent role-modelling for the younger generations.” I concur whole-heartedly!
We were also delighted to learn that one of our Head students, Johan Mariyathas has won the prestigious ‘Young Southall’ award and will receive this on Saturday evening at the Southall Community Awards evening. Read more about this below.

Y12’s take part in Citizens UK project
On Tuesday, 12th November 2024, three Year 12 students had the privilege of attending a meeting between Councillor Peter Mason and local citizens at Perceval House, Ealing Council. This unique opportunity allowed them to observe firsthand how the voices of the community influence local government decisions.
The meeting focused on tackling the nationwide housing crisis, alongside pressing issues such as homelessness. Our students witnessed discussions that not only addressed these social challenges but also examined their economic and environmental implications. This gave them a deeper understanding of the complexity and care involved in decision-making processes at the council level.
Inspired by this experience, our Year 12 students are eager to apply what they learned to their own upcoming Listening Campaign. Scheduled for next week, this campaign aims to engage with the school and wider community to identify and address issues that matter most to them.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm and commitment to becoming active, informed citizens, and we look forward to seeing how they will channel these insights into meaningful action.

Cash Payments
We are a cashless school and families can pay for school meals, stationery, trips and clubs via ParentPay. You can top up your ParentPay account from a bank account or by using a debit/credit card. If you do not have a valid bank account or debit/credit card, please email info@villiers.ealing.sch.uk. We will set up a PayPoint account, so you can make payments using cash.
Detention Information
In order to support your child’s learning and keep standards high, we have introduced a new centralised teacher detention. This means that if a student’s behaviour has not improved after several reminders, they will have to sit a 40-minute detention after school.
We want to ensure that communication is made, so an automatic email will be sent to you, and students will sit the detention the next day, giving you 24 hours’ notice.
Please do remind your child about this and if you do have any queries about how we can best support your child, please do contact their Head of Year.
