This week, we have been focused on Children’s mental health week with the theme ‘My voice matters’. Further details can be found below, but if you would like to take part at home, please click here.
Year 7 had a very successful visit from ‘Your life, you choose’ focused on deterring young people from crime, raising awareness of the consequences of their choices, empowering them to make better decisions and keep themselves safe. Year 9 Drama students went to see ‘Guys and Dolls’ at the Bridge Theatre; we had our TFL Pioneers challenge, a KS3 STEM workshop and a post-16 college workshop for some of our year 11s. Altogether a busy end to a busy half-term.
The Lunar New Year begins tomorrow (10th February) and is celebrated by many with East Asian Origins. This year is the year of the Dragon 龍. For all celebrating, 新年好
Have a pleasant, restful and safe half-term break and we will see all students through gate 6 by 8.27am on Monday 19th February.
Geography Trip
YR 11 Geographers completed their compulsory human geography field study this week. They travelled to Stratford in East London and completed tasks on the Urban regeneration of the area. As you can see in the photo part of this includes public art work like the sculpture of the Gorilla in front of a new housing site. This field studies trip was vital in allowing students to collect data they will use in their summer GCSE exam. The students would like to Thank Lorna from the Field Studies Centre and all their teachers for ensuring they completed the tasks and will be able to be successful in their summer exams.
Behaviour Systems
Our behaviour systems have been further developed so that they are clear and transparent for everyone. Please see our new behaviour pyramid below. The pastoral team will explain this to all the children Monday 19th February and there will be posters up in classrooms and other areas of the school as a visual reminder. As always, we appreciate your support and any feedback is welcome.
Barcelona Trip
Our exciting trip to Barcelona will run from 12th July to 15th July. The trip is STILL open to all year groups but only limited spaces are available. Act now or prepare to be disappointed! Please collect additional information from the languages office (next to N11) or your languages teacher and pay on Parent Pay.
Pets in the focus room
We have welcomed some fish to the focus area this week; it has been fun preparing the fish tank with some of the children and deciding on names for them all. They are a good talking point and something for children to focus on as well as giving them some responsibility in school.
PE Kits after half term
All students will need to come to school in their P.E. kit wearing their school shoes and carrying trainers when we return for P.E. after half-term. There are exams in the gym so changing facilities will be limited. Click here for details of the P.E. kit.

Year 10: Non-A level progression to Sixth form
The Ealing Learning Partnership are running a “Progressions to level 2” careers event targeted at families of current year 10 students who may not want to or be able to choose to study A-Levels at sixth form level. Please read the attached for more information.
Medical needs & allergies
We would like to ensure that our school records accurately reflect your child’s medical needs including information on any allergies. Please keep us informed of any changes to your child’s medical allergies to ensure information is accurate and up to date on our school system. In the case that a student has been prescribed an Epi-Pen by the doctor, they should bring two Epi-Pens to school, one to carry on their person and the other to be provided to the Welfare Office, as a spare in case of an emergency. Please encourage your child to check with the canteen staff for any food allergies and to read the food labels before making purchases. School Streets
We are delighted to announce that, following the consultation, the council has approved our school for a school street which will be launched 4th March. Further details in the attached document.
Year 11 & 13 intervention schedule: spring 2024
Please find attached the new Year 11 and Year 13 intervention schedule for the Spring term. It is imperative that students attend the sessions they have been invited to as this will allow teachers to provide them with targeted support in preparation for the mock exams which will take place in February 2024.
Children’s Mental Health Week (5th – 9th February 2024)
It is Children’s mental health week this week; all pupils have had an assembly about this important campaign. We have considered this year’s theme of ‘My Voice Matters’ and how young people can use their voice to create positive change for themselves and others.

We are a cashless school and families can pay for school meals, stationery, trips and clubs via ParentPay. You can top up your ParentPay account from a bank account or by using a debit/credit card. If you do not have a valid bank account or debit/credit card, please email info@villiers.ealing.sch.uk. We will set up a PayPoint account, so you can make payments using cash.
