Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards

This week we’ve had our photo day for year 8 – 11 pupils, year 7s have had their cognitive abilities tests (CATs), there’s been a trip to Kew Gardens and the Haywood Gallery, and we’ve held our year 7 and 12 open evening. Quite a busy one even by our standards!
Thank you to parents for collecting your children early yesterday and dropping them off a little later this morning. It enabled us to make sure the events were as well prepared as possible.

Next week we have more trips and also open morning tours for families of prospective year 7s and 12s to visit the school in action. Parents of current year 7s, please make sure you have the meet the tutor evening in your diaries 15th October, 4 – 6.30pm. Looking slightly further ahead, half term is from 24th October to 1st November inclusive.

Please do share any exciting achievements or success your child has outside of school with me so we can celebrate that here too. I’m aware we have a number of superb musicians, sportspeople and entrepreneurs in our midst and we don’t always get to hear about the incredible things they’re doing beyond the classroom. My email is headteacher@villiers.ealing.sch.uk

A Celebration of Community: Highlights from Our Fantastic Open Evening!

What an extraordinary evening! We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Evening. The energy across the school was vibrant, and it was a true joy to welcome so many of you into our community.

It was particularly special to see such a wonderful mix of faces from meeting prospective new families taking their first steps with us, to catching up with our current parents, and even welcoming back former pupils and parents. Seeing past families return to share their ongoing connection to our school community was a wonderful reminder of the lasting bonds built here.

Our staff and subject departments truly outdid themselves, putting together a brilliant array of hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive displays. From engaging Science experiments and Creative Art exhibitions to interactive challenges across every subject, our teachers pulled out all the stops to make learning come alive.

Most importantly, it was delightful to see the children having such a fantastic time. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and bright smiles as they explored the classrooms and participated in the events were the highlight of the night for all of us.

Thank you once again to our dedicated staff, our pupil ambassadors, and all the families who made the evening such a memorable success!

Cognitive Abilities Tests (CAT4)

We believe in providing every pupil with the opportunity to realise their full potential and achieve at the highest level. To gain a deeper understanding of our pupils’ learning needs, we will be assessing all Year 7 pupils using the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) over the next two weeks.

Positive P.E.!

We were delighted to receive an email from a teacher at Greenford High School about the conduct of our pupils at a recent sports fixture:

“Thank you so much for the U13 girls game earlier, it was a lovely start to the season. I just wanted to email to say how lovely and kind all of your students were! They conducted themselves very well, I even had a couple of students come up to me at the end and say ‘thankyou for opportunity’ which was a first from any school! It really was a pleasure. Please feed this back to them if you can.”

Enrichment timetable 2026

We are pleased to share our 2026 Enrichment Timetable. All enrichment clubs have now started and are proving very popular, with many filling up quickly.

Parent Workshop: Preparing for the Social Media Ban

Natasha Devon and Shahroo Izadi are joining forces to help families prepare for the social media ban coming in Spring 2027.

The government have confirmed that from Spring 2027 under-16s will no longer be able to use platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and X. It is a significant change, and a lot of parents are feeling apprehensive about how this will play out at home.

Register your interest on the link (click here) and tell us what you’re most concerned about, or what you’d be grateful for advice on. We’ll shape the offering around what you tell us; drawing from our respective experience and expertise working across education and healthcare.
