Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards
We’ve welcomed two more Primary schools (Hambrough and North) to take part in experience days this week and we’re really pleased that they had a great time. Thank you to those of you whose children acted as fantastic representatives throughout the days. As I’ve been saying for the last few weeks, please do flag our open evening (1st October) to your friends and family with children in year 6 and add your positive experiences along with it so we can have a really strong cohort of year 7s in September 2027. We are grateful in advance for bearing with us as we close early 1st October (at 12.30pm) and open slightly later at 9.20am 2nd October to support this.
This week, years 12 and 13 visited Sizewell Nuclear plant, we held the UKMT Maths Challenge for girls, there was a year 10 trip to Kew Gardens, we celebrated European day of languages and we held some Cancer Awareness assemblies to years 10 – 13.
Next week on Monday we have our photo days for years 8 – 11, so please make sure your children come in dressed smartly (which is our usual expectation anyway!).
Please do share any exciting achievements or success your child has outside of school with me so we can celebrate that here too. I’m aware we have a number of superb musicians, sportspeople and entrepreneurs in our midst and we don’t always get to hear about the incredible things they’re doing beyond the classroom. Year 7 CATS testing
At Villiers High School, we believe in providing every pupil with the opportunity to realise their full potential and achieve at the highest level. To gain a deeper understanding of our pupils’ learning needs, we will be assessing all Year 7 pupils using the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) over the next two weeks.
Photograph Day
School photographs for pupils in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 will take place on Monday 28th September. Please ensure your child is ready for the day and wearing full school uniform, looking smart and presentable for their photograph.
To be able to view and order photographs, you must register before photo day. Please register now by following these three simple steps:

Student Success: RAF Air Cadets Achievement
Kavish’s parents are delighted to share his recent achievement and experience during the summer holidays.
As part of his involvement, Kavish had the opportunity to take part in a gliding experience and has been actively participating in a range of RAF Cadet activities. Through these experiences, he has continued to develop valuable qualities including self-discipline, commitment, teamwork and focus.
Adding to this success, Southall Squadron recently won a competition against 35 squadrons from across the Middlesex region and will now go on to represent the region at the Zone Competition next month.
We wish him and Southall Squadron every success in the upcoming competition.
Enrichment timetable 2026
We are pleased to share our 2026 Enrichment Timetable. All enrichment clubs have now started and are proving very popular, with many filling up quickly.
We encourage pupils and families to review the timetable and sign up for any clubs of interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Enrichment activities provide excellent opportunities for pupils to develop new skills, pursue their interests, and get involved in school life.
Nuclear Power Station visit
On Monday, 20 of our students enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Sizewell B Power Station in Suffolk to discover how nuclear energy is produced. The group was amazed by the sheer size of the giant power-generating turbines and wore full protective gear, including hard hats and ear protection, to safely explore the site. They also had the opportunity to use special VR headsets and 3D models for an immersive, hands-on look at how the station operates. This trip was organised by Head of Physics Miss Sharma from the Science department.
Parent Workshop: Preparing for the Social Media Ban
Natasha Devon and Shahroo Izadi are joining forces to help families prepare for the social media ban coming in Spring 2027.
The government have confirmed that from Spring 2027 under-16s will no longer be able to use platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and X. It is a significant change, and a lot of parents are feeling apprehensive about how this will play out at home.
We’re putting together an e-book and webinar to help you and your teens and tweens navigate the change with the tools you’ll need.
