Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards

At the end of our first full week back, we are delighted with the focus, conduct and positivity of all our young people who are looking particularly smart in their new crisp white shirts. Even so, we ran assemblies in the first few days to remind everyone of our expectations and to set them up for success in the year ahead and I mentioned to all the young people that I will be following their progress with great interest.

This week we have run some transition workshops for selected groups of our new year 7 pupils to support them in their move to high school, we have run an introduction to key stage 4 evening for families of our new year 10s and amalgamated this with their end of year 9 parents’ evening which was cancelled due to the extreme temperatures. On Thursday evening we ran an introduction to 6th form evening for families of our new year 12 and an exam preparation evening for our year 13s. Year 12 students are currently out on their induction trip with Ms Bedi with the aim of forming strong productive relationships.

Next week we look forward to the enrichment fair on Tuesday lunchtime (please encourage your child to go and sign up for some clubs and activities!), an evening for families of year 11s with crucial information about their forthcoming exam year, a year 7 families’ coffee afternoon with Mr Nandi (their Head of Year) and trips to the Clink Prison museum and St Paul’s Cathedral for years 11 and 9 respectively.

Please do share any exciting achievements or success your child has outside of school with me so we can celebrate that here too. I’m aware we have a number of superb musicians, sportspeople and entrepreneurs in our midst and we don’t always get to hear about the incredible things they’re doing beyond the classroom. My email is headteacher@villiers.ealing.sch.uk

Year 10 – KS4 Introduction Evening and Parents’ Evening

Thank you to all families and year 10 pupils who joined us for the Key Stage 4 Introduction Evening and Parents’ Evening on Wednesday, 9th September. The standard of engagement was exceptional, establishing a clear tone and shared commitment for the academic year ahead.

Key Takeaways and Next Steps

  • Academic Standards: Key Stage 4 demands consistent routines. Homework, revision, and course preparation should be managed daily to avoid end-of-term pressure.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: High attendance directly correlates with GCSE success. Please ensure pupils arrive promptly every day, ready to learn.
  • Positive Behaviour: Consistent positive behaviour creates a calm, focused environment where pupils can make the most of teacher support and reach their full academic potential
  • Communication: Teacher feedback from the evening should be reviewed together at home to set clear personal targets for each term for your child.

If you were unable to attend or have follow-up questions regarding subject specifications or pupil support, please look at the presentation (click here) and reach out to your child’s Head of Year 10 via email at vvirdi@villiers.ealing.sch.uk An example of a revision timetable (click here).
