Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards
Welcome back to all our returning pupils and students and a very warm welcome to our new cohorts in year 7 and 12. We are thrilled to have all year groups here again following the Summer term where those who are taking exams leave us early.
Our pupils achieved a bumper set of results this Summer. We were the most improved school in Ealing for our English & Maths outcomes from an already strong baseline and one of the most improved overall at Key Stage 5 as well as being one of only two schools where all students passed their A level and BTEC qualifications.
Some highlights include nearly 1 in 3 A level grades being A or A*, over 4 in 5 students achieving at least a C grade and all students passing all qualifications. The vast majority of students made it onto a course of their choice at University and a very competitive Degree Apprenticeship with Deloitte secured by one student.
At GCSE it was a similar story with 131 top-tier grade 9s, awarded only to the upper end of exceptional performance nationwide, achieved across all subjects and approaching two thirds of pupils achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Mathematics. Our GCSE story was also picked up by ealing.news and you may have seen us in the publication “Around Ealing” which features a different school every results day but talks about progress of all schools.
Amazing work and a testament to the hard work of the young people, their teachers and families. For those of you who have primary-aged children in your families or those who are coming up to sixth form, do share this great news with them and tell them about your positive experiences. Word of mouth is a strong marketing tool!
Please do share any exciting achievements or success your child has outside of school with me so we can celebrate that here too. I’m aware we have a number of superb musicians, sportspeople and entrepreneurs in our midst and we don’t always get to hear about the incredible things they’re doing beyond the classroom. Site work over the Summer
Over the summer, our site and operations teams have worked hard behind the scenes to ensure the school is ready for the new academic year.
We have completed several important works and checks, including roofing works, window replacements, painting and refreshing corridors, deep cleaning classrooms and toilets, preparing the playground and external areas, and checking our fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, and access control systems.
We extend our gratitude to our staff, contractors, and the local authority for their dedication throughout the summer. With the school now open, today is the first day all pupils are united again. We are ready to welcome everyone back and look forward to a great start to the new school year.
