Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards

Today we welcome our incoming year 7s from their primary schools for an induction day. It’s very exciting to meet all those who will become part of the Villiers family this year. We are extremely grateful to all those pupil helpers giving up their time and energy today to help our new pupils feel welcome.

Thank you for bearing with us during the hottest week of the year so far and supporting the adjustments to make sure all pupils and staff were kept safe and well. In spite of the heat, we’ve held the D.T. exhibition of pupils’ work, had more trips to the Tower of London, attended the modern languages spelling bee national final and been to the National Gallery. Our outgoing year 11s have their prom this evening, so we wish them all the best and are grateful to all the staff giving up their evening to help them celebrate.

Don’t forget that the school is closed from 12.30pm today and on Monday for staff training, but everyone is back in for an 8.30am start in tutor rooms on Tuesday. Our Summer concert is on Thursday evening from 5.30pm, so please do make a note in your diary!

Please note that pupils should not arrive on site before 7.45am. Staff supervision is not available before this time, and this measure is in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students. Breakfast club begins at 7.45am and entrance is through gate 6 on Villiers Road only.

National Foreign Language Spelling Bee Final

On Tuesday 23rd June, on one of the hottest days of the year, during the hottest June on record, Hussain 7V travelled to Cambridge,  to take part in the National  Foreign Language Spelling Bee Final, at the Faculty of Modern & Medieval Languages, in the University  of Cambridge.  This was an enormous achievement. Hussain is one of the top 35 students in the whole country who got through to the finals in French, out of 50,592 original competitors, who entered the competition across the U.K. Hussain had been training every day & knows how to translate, say & spell all 300 words in French. When his turn came Hussain was exceptionally fast and made no passes. Hussain is a role model to other students in his year group. We are so proud of him for this achievement.

🌈Pride Month Bookmark Making Activity

Students took part in a pride month bookmark making activity in the school library.

Their creativity , drawing skills, & individuality were clearly reflected in their designs, highlighting their engagement & effort.

Uniform reminders

We would like to remind all parents and carers that, from September 2026 (the start of the 2026/27 academic year) onwards, all pupils will be expected to wear white shirts rather than blue shirts. This change was communicated earlier this year as part of the updates to our school uniform guidance.

For further information, please see our uniform information page: School Uniform Information

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Creative Competition

Are you looking for a fun, meaningful activity to keep your children busy, engaged, and away from screens?

We are excited to share a fantastic opportunity for our students: the Creative Mile Youth Competition!

Whether your child is a budding artist, a passionate maker, or just loves getting hands-on, this competition is the perfect outlet for their imagination over the holiday.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Who can enter: Students can participate completely on their own or team up with a group of friends. Older siblings are highly encouraged to get involved too!
  • Why take part: It is a brilliant, supportive platform for young people to showcase their talent, build new skills, and feel the pride of being part of a local event that celebrates community creativity.

Ready to get started? You can find all the details, deadlines, and easy entry information right here: 👉 Creative Mile Youth Competition Info & Entries

We would love to see a strong showing from our school community, so please encourage your children to give it a go. You never know what amazing ideas they might come up with! Please forward any entries to Mrs Nayyar in O11.
