Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards

A great first week back following the half-term break. Thank you to all the families of year 7 pupils who attended our parents’ evening yesterday after their child’s first nearly full year of high school. We do hope you found the conversations useful. If you didn’t get a chance to come but would like to speak to a teacher, please contact your child’s Head of Year, Mr Ranu, through reception. Well done to year 8s for getting through their first week of ‘end of year’ assessments.

We look forward to welcoming parents of year 6s with SEND who are joining us in year 7 next year on Monday along with the penultimate week of key stage 4 and 5 national exams and assessments and some of our own internal practical exams.

Please be aware that pupils will be sent home at 12.30pm 17th June as we are involved in borough-wide middle leader training, and the school is also closed 29th June as we are holding a staff training day. Put the date of 2nd July in your diaries for our Summer concert (from 5.30pm) and our Celebration evening takes place 14th July (also at 5.30pm).

Sixth Form Speaker Series Welcomes Army Youth Engagement Officer

On Monday 18th May, the Sixth Form Speaker Series welcomed Sgt Colin Fiddy, Youth Engagement Officer from the Army.

During the session, students were given an insightful overview of the wide range of career opportunities available within the Army. Sgt Fiddy spoke about the different job roles on offer, the qualifications required and the various pathways students can take to join the Army.

Students also learnt about the valuable skills that can be developed through a career in the armed forces, including leadership, teamwork and discipline. The talk provided useful guidance for students considering future career pathways and highlighted the many opportunities available both within and beyond military service.

The session was both engaging and informative, giving students a greater understanding of the career routes, training opportunities and progression available within the Army.

Uniform reminders

Our updated uniform guidance is available on the school website here

This information has already been shared with families in previous bulletins and with pupils through tutor time and assemblies. We ask all parents and carers to ensure that their child attends school in full accordance with our uniform policy.

We are aware that some parents have experienced difficulty sourcing navy blue tights. These are often available from major retailers such as Asda, Sainsbury and Tesco, as well as local markets. A number of parents have also successfully purchased them from Amazon

Please note that this is provided as a helpful suggestion and families may purchase suitable navy-blue tights from any retailer.

Creative Competition

Are you looking for a fun, meaningful activity to keep your children busy, engaged, and away from screens?

We are excited to share a fantastic opportunity for our students: the Creative Mile Youth Competition!

Whether your child is a budding artist, a passionate maker, or just loves getting hands-on, this competition is the perfect outlet for their imagination over the holiday.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Who can enter: Students can participate completely on their own or team up with a group of friends. Older siblings are highly encouraged to get involved too!
  • Why take part: It is a brilliant, supportive platform for young people to showcase their talent, build new skills, and feel the pride of being part of a local event that celebrates community creativity.

Ready to get started? You can find all the details, deadlines, and easy entry information right here: 👉 Creative Mile Youth Competition Info & Entries

We would love to see a strong showing from our school community, so please encourage your children to give it a go. You never know what amazing ideas they might come up with! Please forward any entries to Mrs Nayyar in O11.

School arrival time

Please note that pupils should not arrive on site before 7.45am. Staff supervision is not available before this time, and this measure is in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students. Breakfast club begins at 7.45am and entrance is through gate 6 on Villiers Road only.

Summer 2026 GCSE & A-Level Examinations Timetable

Please find the attached Summer 2026 examination timetable, which outlines all exam dates for our students sitting GCSE, A-level and BTEC exams.

It is important that all students sitting exams this summer remain available up to and including Tuesday 24 June 2026. This is to ensure they are available to sit an exam that has be rescheduled due to a national or local disruption to the published timetable.

We therefore kindly request that any holidays are arranged from 26 June 2026 onwards. This will help ensure your child is able to attend all of their examinations and allow them to attain their best possible outcomes.

For further guidance on the examination series, please visit the JCQ website: https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/information-for-candidates/

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at exam@villliers.ealings.sch.uk.

We wish all students the very best in their upcoming examinations.
