Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards

A shorter week, this week, but action-packed nonetheless. We’ve had some more practical components for GCSE and A level, as well as the first actual ‘papers on desks’ so needless to say we’ve had some quite anxious pupils (and teachers!), but all is going well so far. Our year 9s have also experienced their first ever formal examinations, tackling papers in English, Maths and Science.

Next week, the exams continue for year 11 and 13 and assessments move in class for year 9. We have a year 8 History trip to Kensington Palace, some year 8 vaccinations and we are focusing on mental health awareness.

Have a restful weekend!

Attendance Awards

Once again, Villiers High School has been recognised for the strong attendance of our students. Recently published data from the Fisher Family Trust (FFT) shows that our attendance is in the top 25% of all FFT schools in the country, and the top 25% of all similar FFT schools in the whole country. These awards are a testament to the desire of the students to be in school as much as possible and all the staff members who constantly promote the importance and benefits of having a strong attendance.

Year 10 French Trip

The Year 10 students recently visited a French Bookshop and French Landmarks in London. The students enjoyed their educational visit. It was a great learning experience to see and use French language beyond the school gates.

Year 12 Individual Work Experience Report

All of our Year 12 students are encouraged to explore work experience opportunities that support their learning and future aspirations.

One pupil who has taken on the challenge is Verona (12L) who recently had the opportunity to undertake work experience at Studio X Chelsea Foundation. Read on to find out, from Verona herself, how it went!

”Ever wondered what it’s like to work in a high-pressure media studio? I recently had the opportunity to go on a work experience with SW6 One Studio X Chelsea foundation, which focused on interests such as music and media-related subjects on the 29th and 30th of April 2026, giving young people the chance to work with industry professionals to develop an idea from concept to screen.

During my time at the work experience, we created an original soundtrack from scratch and produced a short-form commercial to promote our song, which helped me gain insight into creative careers. We worked in teams and worked across roles like director, editor, producer, and even as an actor/actress. We also learnt how to use specialist equipment and learnt what it’s like producing an actual music track with a 2 day deadline.

To wrap it all up, we presented our work through a press-style interview and got feedback. Even though it was only two days, the experience taught me so much about teamwork, creativity, and managing tight deadlines. It’s definitely inspired me to explore more opportunities in music and media in the future! 🚀”

Summer 2026 GCSE & A-Level Examinations Timetable

Please find the attached Summer 2026 examination timetable, which outlines all exam dates for our students sitting GCSE, A-level and BTEC exams.

It is important that all students sitting exams this summer remain available up to and including Tuesday 24 June 2026. This is to ensure they are available to sit an exam that has be rescheduled due to a national or local disruption to the published timetable.

We therefore kindly request that any holidays are arranged from 26 June 2026 onwards. This will help ensure your child is able to attend all of their examinations and allow them to attain their best possible outcomes.

For further guidance on the examination series, please visit the JCQ website: https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/information-for-candidates/

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at exam@villliers.ealings.sch.uk.

We wish all students the very best in their upcoming examinations.

Alumni

Are you a former student of Villiers, or do you know someone who is? We have partnered with leading social mobility charity Future First to set up our Alumni. We would like as many of our former students to join the Alumni and the National Network of Alumni to, if possible, give something back to the current and future students of Villiers High School. Please click here to register.
