Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards

Welcome back and happy Vaisakhi to those who celebrated this week. This week we’ve had a year 10 Geography field trip to Epping Forest, the year 7 residential (due back later today), rehearsals and a performance for the Drama connections project, a visit to the French library and another Brilliant Scholars programme day for our year 12s.
A reminder that we have had a slight change in the uniform requirements which were flagged up in the previous term. Please refer to the details shared below.
Our year 7 assessments begin next week and the Graphics and Textiles GCSE pupils begin their component two work.
New School Uniform Guidelines
Starting Monday, 13th April 2026, we are introducing updates to our school uniform policy. Our goal is to ensure pupils look smart and feel comfortable without imposing a financial burden on families.
Uniform Standards: We have clarified rules on how to wear existing uniform items, and these will be enforced starting on Monday, 13th April.
New Shirt Colour (From September 2026): We are transitioning from light blue to white shirts.
Optional Shorts (From May 2026): Pupils may choose to wear shorts during warmer weather; this is entirely optional.
Sustainability News
Last term, as part of the Imperial College Grantham Climate Art Prize, Villiers pupils took part in an inspiring workshop exploring the question: “What does a thriving, vibrant city full of nature and innovation look and feel like?”
Working collaboratively, students designed a powerful mural to draw attention to the climate crisis. Their creativity and teamwork reflect Villiers High School’s motto — “For life, not school, we learn” — as they develop the skills needed for responsible citizenship and life beyond the classroom.
The design created by our Year 7 pupils has been shortlisted for the opportunity to be painted as a large-scale mural on the Imperial College campus. In addition, the school could receive a £500 prize to support further sustainability initiatives. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and are keeping our fingers crossed for their success.

Summer 2026 GCSE & A-Level Examinations Timetable
Please find the attached Summer 2026 examination timetable, which outlines all exam dates for our students sitting GCSE, A-level and BTEC exams.
It is important that all students sitting exams this summer remain available up to and including Tuesday 24 June 2026. This is to ensure they are available to sit an exam that has be rescheduled due to a national or local disruption to the published timetable.
We therefore kindly request that any holidays are arranged from 26 June 2026 onwards. This will help ensure your child is able to attend all of their examinations and allow them to attain their best possible outcomes.
For further guidance on the examination series, please visit the JCQ website: https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/information-for-candidates/
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at exam@villliers.ealings.sch.uk.
We wish all students the very best in their upcoming examinations.
Alumni
Are you a former student of Villiers, or do you know someone who is? We have partnered with leading social mobility charity Future First to set up our Alumni. We would like as many of our former students to join the Alumni and the National Network of Alumni to, if possible, give something back to the current and future students of Villiers High School. Please click here to register.
