Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards
What a busy week yet again! We’ve had year 10 work experience, whole year group trips to Legoland, a London Bus Tour, Go Ape, Sports Day, a Spanish trip to the BFI, a Year 12 Physics Trip to Imperial College, a Year 10 & 12 Trip to the Cartoon Museum, a year 12 trip to the Old Bailey, a DofE expedition and we hosted the Southall Resists Exhibition on Wednesday. We are extremely grateful to all those staff who led and attended trips and to families for bearing with us when collection times were a little later than planned!
Our Barcelona trip leaves on Tuesday of next week and we are extremely grateful to staff for planning and leading this eye-opening opportunity. Year 12 will be going to Thorpe Park, our Celebration Evening and DT Exhibition will be taking place on Thursday (make sure you visit!) and there will be a trip to the Tate.
Don’t forget that we finish 18th July (next Friday). Key Stage 3 students are dismissed at 12.15 and year 10 students at 12.30. Year 12 students will be allowed to leave after their last lesson of the morning.
Summer BFI activities (MFL)
Thirty students from Y8 enjoyed a day out at the French BFI Trip by the Southbank on 5th of June for a day of French cinema entitled ‘Venez étudier le français’ a study day for young people. The day was very interactive. It really was a case of ‘for life, not school, we learn’. Not only did students learn new vocabulary but they could also see what they have been learning in class come alive in the short film clips.
Recently, 7th July, thirty Spanish students attended a BFI trip by the Southbank for a day of Spanish cinema entitled ‘Cine Español para jóvenes’. Year 8 had an inspiring opportunity to enhance their language skills through cinema and interactive activities. This study day was designed to boost Spanish language abilities through short films and engaging exercises suitable for Key Stage 3 students.
Summer Concert a Resounding Success!
Our summer music concert on Thursday, July 3rd, was a truly memorable occasion, filled with outstanding performances from 130 talented students, ranging from years 7 to 13. Parents, staff, students and ex-students gathered to enjoy a diverse programme of musical pieces, ranging from classical to rock and including instrumental and vocal solos, duets, trios and large ensembles. The dedication and passion of our young musicians shone through in every note. It was a wonderful celebration of hard work and artistic expression, and we extend our sincere thanks to all the performers, the music department, and everyone who supported for making it such a special event.

The success continued on Friday morning, July 4th, with a concert for our local primary schools: Blair Peach, Tudor, and North. It was a joy to welcome so many young, enthusiastic faces to our school. We were particularly delighted to receive glowing feedback from Blair Peach Primary:
“Thank you so much for inviting us to today’s musical showcase — it was absolutely fabulous! The talent on display was truly out of this world. From the vocals to the drumming and guitar performances, every piece was delivered with such confidence and passion. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment.”
We are incredibly proud of all our musicians. Their talent and hard work made both concerts a resounding success.

Exciting news from the music department! We’ve just welcomed an exotic 5-string bass guitar to our instrument family! This versatile bass adds those deep, rich sounds you hear in everything from Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” to the heavy riffs of Korn. We can’t wait to showcase our bands playing this in our upcoming concerts!
