Message from the Headteacher, Mr Richards
Welcome back to the second half of the Academic year; yes, it has flown by that quickly believe it or not! This week we have welcomed a number of trainee teachers to Villiers who will enrich the subject areas in which they work; they come with a wealth of cutting edge research and training ready to support our children receive a world-class education whilst we support them in honing their craft. Concurrently, the year 11s have made a good start to their mock examinations; it is a crucial time for them as they begin the final climb towards their terminal examinations in May and June of this year. We wish them the very best of luck.
This week, a year 10 Maths cohort has visited the Bank of England and sixth formers have been to see Richard II in the Bridge theatre. Next week, the ever-entertaining Onatti theatre is back with a French play for our year 8 – 10s, our year 9s and 10s go on a food and nutrition trip, there is a year 9 rewards trip and a debate mate trip. We don’t like to stand still!
I am also delighted to report that we have appointed Ms Stephanie Welsford as Senior Deputy Headteacher this week. She has been at the school for a number of years now starting as Associate Assistant Headteacher in charge of both literacy and the English department, both crucial roles to the success of our students, and latterly as Deputy Headteacher. Ms Welsford will deputise for Mr Richards semi-regularly when the need arises as well as leading on different aspects of the school’s development plan, the long-awaited Specially Resourced Provision (SRP) and the technology for learning strategy among her other current responsibilities.
Year 7- Science Studies
We are thrilled to share the fantastic work of our Year 7S students, who recently created impressive and creative lung models as part of their science studies. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were truly reflected in their detailed and innovative designs, demonstrating a deep understanding of how the lungs function.

To celebrate their hard work, we awarded prizes to the most outstanding models. Congratulations to all our winners, and well done to every student who participated with such dedication and creativity!
Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love for science among our students.
Year 12s visit to RD Studio’s & Topaz Cars
As part of the collaboration with Segro and Sparks School’s program, ten of the Villiers Year 12 students visited RD Studios and Topaz Cars at the Premier Park estate in Park Royal on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Meeting Cllr Mason, Leader of Ealing Council
On Wednesday 26th February 2025, myself and seven other Year 12 students, along with our headteacher Mr. C Richards and members of Citizens UK, met with Peter Mason, the leader of Ealing Council.
We spoke about the key issues like housing, job opportunities, and community projects, pushing for real action on things like fair wages, better support for renters, and more affordable housing.

It was great to see real progress being made – more than last time! As students, we did our best to understand the world of politics and economics, and it was a completely new experience for us, having to keep up with quite an advanced debate.
It felt good to be working on the community we live and go to school in. At the end, I asked about the inequalities between areas like Southall and Ealing, and he agreed to visit Villiers to continue the conversation.
Hopefully, he sticks to his word, as this is something many people have been thinking about but not saying out loud.
Overall, it was a positive, friendly meeting, and it was great to have the rare opportunity to be part of it huge thanks to Citizens UK.
~Harry (Year 12R)
