We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for our school community. On 13 November 2026, BBC journalist and newsreader Reeta Chakrabarti will be speaking about her debut novel, Finding Belle, a moving story that explores family relationships and mental health. The event will take place at Parkside Yards from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and includes a welcome drink and refreshments. Families interested in literature and contemporary fiction may wish to attend this engaging evening with one of the UK’s most recognisable broadcasters.

Creative Writing Competition for Villiers’ Pupils
Calling all aspiring writers! Pupils are invited to take part in an exciting Creative Writing Competition organised in partnership with local author events. Pupils may submit either a short story or a poem on a topic of their choice, giving them the opportunity to showcase their creativity and writing talent.
The winning pupil, along with two parents or carers, will be invited to attend the Meera Syal author event at Villiers on 8th December 2026, where they will receive a special prize and may have the opportunity to read their work to the audience. Outstanding entries may also be featured in a commemorative brochure. The deadline for submissions is 16th November 2026. We encourage all pupils who enjoy creative writing to get involved and share their work.

Parent Workshop: Preparing for the Social Media Ban
Natasha Devon and Shahroo Izadi are joining forces to help families prepare for the social media ban coming in Spring 2027.
The government have confirmed that from Spring 2027 under-16s will no longer be able to use platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and X. It is a significant change, and a lot of parents are feeling apprehensive about how this will play out at home.
We’re putting together an e-book and webinar to help you and your teens and tweens navigate the change with the tools you’ll need.
Register your interest on the link (click here) and tell us what you’re most concerned about, or what you’d be grateful for advice on. We’ll shape the offering around what you tell us; drawing from our respective experience and expertise working across education and healthcare.

Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Survey
The Metropolitan Police is inviting local residents to complete a short survey on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). Your feedback will help the police identify local concerns, direct patrols, tackle concerning behaviour, and improve community safety. We encourage all parents and carers to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their views. (click here).
